B-52's, AMARC

These are the last of the B-52's at AMARC. There are about 100 left; there were about 400 there when I photographed 10 years ago. As you pan around you can see planes in camoflage colors from the Vietnam War as well as blue-gray planes from the Strategic Air Command.

In grammer school we watched filmstrips teaching us how to "duck and cover" in case of nuclear attack. Back then B-52s were kept in the air 24 hours a day ready to bomb the Soviet Union.

This panorama was stitched together with Quicktime Authoring Studio from 12 photographs taken with a 24mm lens.
