You're looking straight down the gantry tower of Complex 34, where the Gemini missions were launched. The tower has been lowered back onto the launch pad. Directly in the center is where the Titan II rockets were positioned. Neil Armstrong, Gus Grissom, Pete Conrad and Wally Schirra were among the astronauts that flew on the 12 Gemini missions.
Pan 90 degrees to the left you can see the white dome-shaped blockhouse where the missions were controlled. Keep panning to the left and you can see the white room of the tower. Those plates with semi-circular holes in them were lowered around the Gemini capsule so it could be serviced and the astronauts could enter.
This launch pad was to be removed for scrap metal more than 10 years ago, and I'm told would not still be here if not for a fatal accident during demolition, after which work was stopped. Since that time there has been a renewed appreciation for this part of our heritage, and the top of the tower containing the white room is going to be restored and put on display. You can see the two sections have been separated as you pan around.
