Monopoly Board:In the early 1970's a protest group took over Ellis Island. They were actually allowed to stay on the island for some time, but eventually left. When I re-visited Ellis in 1997 I discovered that this photo from 1974 was the only evidence of their occupation of Ellis and where they actually camped.
